How to do it

  1. 1Stand holding a barbell at hip height with legs almost straight.
  2. 2Keep only a very slight bend in your knees throughout.
  3. 3Hinge at your hips, lowering the bar down the front of your legs.
  4. 4Lower until you feel a deep hamstring stretch, keeping your back flat.
  5. 5Drive your hips forward to return to standing.

  • Knees nearly locked
  • Hinge from the hips
  • Flat back throughout
